Agisting
Located in central Iowa just north of Des Moines.
We offer full boarding and agistment. We can board both males and females with separate facilities for both. Animals do NOT have to be purchased from us to board at our farm. Animals purchased from us are boarded free for the 1st two months. We also offer discounted breedings to any boarders. We currently have approx 50 animals of our own on the farm.
We currently have five barns with running water and electricity. All barns are insulated and the cria barn has infared heaters. All barns have multiple paddocks/pastures dedicated to them. One barn is dedicated for mothers/cria, 2 are for males/fiber males, 1 is for juveniles/females/bred females and the last is our quarantine barn for new arrivals or animals returning from shows.
We can assist with transportation if needed. We have a large gooseneck horse trailer that has been adapted for hauling males and females at the same time.
We now have a complete quarantine facility ready and available for all animals coming to the farm.
Pricing and Terms
We charge $4.00/day per animal which covers feed and forage and routine healthcare. Normal routine health care is included such as toenail trimming, worming, routine shots. We produce our own grass hay. Birthing fee - $100.00. Vet bills are the responsibility of the owner.
Additional Details
We take herd health very seriously on our farm. If interested in boarding at our farm we would ask for your animals to be tested for BVD and parasites before coming to our farm. Our entire herd has tested negative for BVD. We have a built a new barn, a separate quarantine facility that is removed from the rest of the herd. All animals coming to the farm will spend 30 days in quarantine and be retested(BVD and fecals) before being integrated with the rest of the farm herd.
We have a great working relationship with a vet that is close and has had 15 years experience with llamas. He has adapted to alpacas very easily.
We can also offer brokering opportunities for your herd if needed.
